Jungkook silently followed Namjoon down the long hallway, the warmth and laughter from the dining room fading further behind them with every step. The atmosphere shifted almost immediately, what had once felt warm and domestic now felt quieter. Heavier.
Namjoon stopped in front of a dark wooden door, pushed it open calmly, and stepped inside first. Jungkook followed.
